Mystery Adverb (indoor game)

Players: 4 or more
Materials: None

This game combines charades with word guessing. Send one player out of the room. The remaining players choose between them the mystery adverb, preferring one that can be easily demonstrated. Good choices are adverbs like angrily, sleepily, happily, quickly, strangely, or hysterically.

Call the player in again and tell him that he has to discover the mystery adverb by asking any of the others to act it out in some way. For example, he might ask one of the players to walk across the room. Another has to make a speech. He asks another to shake hands or sing a song—the variations are endless.

Players try to both give clues and confuse the guesser. When he finally discovers the mystery adverb, another player leaves the room and the game starts all over again.
