Huckle, Buckle, Beanstalk (indoor game)

Players: 3 or more
Materials: Chair

This game sharpens your observation skills and makes you a good detective. You’ll be amazed at how long it’ll take some of your friends to catch on.

This game should take place in a room familiar to all the players. Place a chair in the center of the room, and choose someone to be “IT” from among the players. IT sends the other players out. He then selects some small object in the room—a book, a vase, a plant, a picture—and moves it to some outlandish place where it doesn’t belong but won’t be too conspicuous.

IT calls the other players back in, and each player looks for something different about the room. When a player notices the object, he shouts “Huckle, buckle, beanstalk!” and races to the chair. Sometimes, two or more players recognize the object at about the same time. They all call “Huckle, buckle, beanstalk!” but only one will make it to the chair.

The player sitting in the chair first becomes IT for the next game.
